Magnolia wedding card

Wow i haven't made a card in ages but i thought i had better get a move on cause i have a few wedding cards to make.
I have made this for my nieces mum and her fiance for when they get married next year.
I used the cuttle bug to cut all my die pieces.
The flowers from the marianne dies a bit fiddly but i like them and the swirls are marianne design dies also.
The nesties of course and magnolia wedding couple.
The hearts are a martha stewart punch called lattice heart.
Butterflies are magnolia dies.
I used shades of lilac and purple as Jane the bride loves that colours.
I hope you all like it .

This is my new tattoo i have had the 2 yellow roses added to my butterfly and flowers.....so so far i have had 5 tattoos to make this big one and i love it, it's work in progress and i am sure i will add more to it

Bookmark cards......card and present in one

Sitting one night i thought i would make some gifts and cards in one so i have made some bookmark cards which is a present and card in one.

Often or not we would like to send someone a little gift to say thanks, happy birthday or just something to cheer them up so i think that this may be a good idea.

Let me know what you think i am also working on other bookmark cards and post some pictures soon.

New fairy tattoo

Well this is my new fairy tattoo i got inked on Friday by Gemma at Ink Minx in montrose......and i absolutely love it.

I have always wanted a fairy but have never seen one i like but eventually i found one on the net and gemma helped me tweek it a bit.

It took about and hour and 15 minutes to do. Im so glad i got her done and plan to add some flowers round the outside of her.

Well this has what i have been upto this afternoon. I love pandora style beads and this morning beads from hong kong arrived through the post.

I also received alaminium beads which go lovely with the pandora beads and give them a bit of sparkle.

I tell you my brain is going on overtime.......i got the sizzix die this week and thought i would try it out and i love it....so much can be done with it.

I was supposed to be making wedding cards but ended up getting sidetracked so again i have made 4 birthday cards.

i love using the nestabilities for the sentiments and again tried out my martha stewart punch

I seem to have my mojo back big time. These again are cards i haven't made before but i thought i would bite the bullet and attempt them. Getting the new tilda bridal couple helped alot as it gave me the image to start.

I also love the prima e-line flowers they are so lovely and in many different colours and at £1.50 a pack they go a long way.

I really love the tilda range of stamps......i just need to learn to colour better though but at least it didn't turn out too bad.....i hope

A friend at work is 50 on monday and i wanted to make a special cards as she isnt celebrating or soing anything so wanted to make a nice card

My New Greenhouse

Ally has been working hard putting together my new greenhouse.

I got a great big 10x6 greenhouse last week.

I got the 4x4 wood for the base from my local saw mill

The benches was my bargain from focus diy ....they were meant to be £29.29 each but i got them for £4 each a steal so they cost only £8 for 2.

I stained them with varnish stain to preserve them.

I bought some sand this morning and levelled the base of the greenhouse and ally laid down the slabs.

I just love my new greenhouse and cant wait to use it....and ill need to use it with all the seeds i need for my garden and my allotment....lol

I got some fab pandora style beads and pandora findings from hong kong before christmas and just didn't have the time to do anything with them, that and i had no mojo...lol

The top picture is the pandora style bracelets with safety chain. They are made up of pandora style beads and tibetan silver spacers.

The second is also pandora style and spacers and are made up into keyrings, i think they look great ...well i must as i have made a couple for myself and i dont even need any.

I have made up a necklace and a cople of full bracelets for myself which i will post once i have finished them.

I think i lost my mojo somewhere over christmas but i think its come back as i have been busy making some pandora style jewellery the last few days.

These are the other 2 baskets i have made up of my homemade preserves along with some crackers biscuits etc and of course some sweets and long handled spoons.

The top basket is for my friend and the bottom basket is for my mum and dad.

I made up a small basket with 3 different flavours of homemade jam made by myself with some roses to give it some colour. I then wrapped it in some lovely foil paper and wrapped it in cellephane with some curling ribbon a homemade tag and a couple of little balls

This is my friend marys christmas present. I have been very busy making different types of chutneys and jams and wanted to make something personal for my friend so i made up this basket with about 10 jars of preserves, matchmakers, oatcakes, crackers and shortbread.

I also put in 2 long handled spoons to reach the bottom of the jars so that nothing is wasted.

I also made a pair of lovely blue stone ear rings and i made a red beaded bookmark which i wrapped up so she has a couple of more pressies to open on christmas morning.

The basket was a nightmare to wrap i wanted to wrap it in cellophane but i didnt want her to be able to see what was in the basket so i wrapped it in christmas paper first then wrapped it in the cellophane.

I added as couple of bows, gold ribbon which i curled and added a couple of baubles . I then made a couple of homemade labels using my bookatrix board and that as they say it that.

Now i have one for my parents to do and one for another friend.....not looking forward to them as they are longer baskets

ear rings for a friends xmas

Just sitting here trying to wrap pressies and thought i would make a pair of ear rings for my friend mary to pop in her basket of preserves for xmas. I also just finished a bookmark for her too which i will wrap seperately and pop into her basket. I made Mary a basket of all the preserves i have made over the last few months along with some crackers and sweet etc. I will post a pic when i eventually get it wrapped....not going to be easy.

Now i have made some small earring boxes for the earrings i have made.

They were suprisingly easy and look so sweet. I added in some cotton wool for the earrings to sit on.

This is my effort for sunday i embossed all the tags using the glitter girls bookatrix board then cut then out and added some foam pads and layered them. I then added some peel offs and some wooden xmas embellishments

and then finished it off with some silver string.

This is just a selection of the tags i made today i sat and made 26 before i got fed up.....lol

BANANA MUFFIN RECIPE

BANANA MUFFINS

Ingredients
75g/3oz melted butter 250g/9oz self-raising flour 1 tsp baking powder ½ tsp bicarbonate of soda pinch of salt ½ tsp ground cinnamon ½ tsp ground nutmeg 115g/4oz caster sugar 1 tsp vanilla extract 2 large, ripe bananas 2 medium eggs125ml/4fl oz milk 10 walnut kernels (optional) To serve2 bananas, sliced 50g/2oz walnut kernels 2 tbsp crème fraïche or yoghurt 2 tbsp runny honey
Method
1. Heat the oven to 190C/375F/Gas 5. Melt the butter and allow to cool. Mash the bananas well. Sift the flour, baking powder, bicarbonate of soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg together in a large bowl, add caster sugar and stir through. 2. With a fork, beat together the eggs, vanilla extract, melted butter and milk in a second bowl. Add the mashed banana and stir through. 3. Make a well in the centre of the dry ingredients and add the egg mixture, stirring roughly with a fork (don't over mix) until it is a lumpy paste. 4. Set paper cases into the moulds, or grease the moulds well with a little extra oil or butter and spoon in the mixture until almost full. Top each one with a walnut kernel if you like. 5. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until the muffins come away from the side of the pan when touched. Rest the muffin tray on a wire rack for five minutes then remove the muffins and leave on the rack for another five minutes before serving. 6. Serve the muffins with sliced banana and a dollop of creme fraiche, scattered with walnuts and drizzled with honey (or with Caramel yoghurt).

Busy making preserves and jams

This is what i have been upto the last couple of months.

Thanks to my friend Amanda i have been making chutneys,jams and i have also attempted to pickle things.

I have jams like....strawberry, mixed fruit, damson, plum, bramble

Chutneys are mediteranean, peach, banana, apple, spicy apple, beetroot, mango, pear..the list goes on

I have also pickled home grown cucumbers and beetroot. I also attemped to pickle eggs for xmas and some yellow peppers

So nice not having to but it all i just have to go through to my little cupboard and get them.

Can you guess what everyone is getting for christmas...lol

I have done hampers for my parents and friends..which i wil also add sweets, shortbread, oatcakes and crackers and possible some cheese too to go with the chutneys and jams.

Went for a yellow rose but came out with another butterfly in lilac, blue and white.Wasn't too sore just scratchy and nippy

Well What do you think then? This is my first attempt at beading bracelets with beads. I used crimp beads and tiger tail and lovely beads i had lying about.

ouch had my tendon op

i went into ward 18 at ninewells hospital in Dundee on monday and had an operation on my right hand.....
I was awake through it thanks to having a block done on my arm, it was numb from the shoulder to the tips of my fingers.
I heard the operation and at the end was given my hand and arm to hold going to recovery...boy it felt like a couple of bricks...lol
I have a lovely pink cast on as you can see and a nice 3-4 inch wound with 7 stitches in it at my wrist so its rather sore but im coping....just...lol
Hopefully the op has helped to tighten my tendons up again....but it means i cant bead or craft for about 12 weeks due to my hand being in a cast and after the cast comes off it will be very stiff....so im so fed up already thankfully i made all the inserts for my christmas cards on sunday...phew i wouldn't have been able to do them now

This is my minature cherry tree which is lovely in spring. There used to be a horrid apple tree here years ago but i dug it out and made the are into a shape which i am slowly filling with plants and of course bark to keep the weeds out and my little quirky ornaments..lol
This is my runner beans in a pot on the patio in front of the summer house.

These are lovely daisy plants that the birds keep leaving me and as i love daisies i have left them they look wonderful in the summer....and they are multiplying like mad too

This is my summer house which is in the corner of my garden....im slowly getting everything sorted out

This is my veggie garden, sorry its not a good pic as ih ave a fishing net over the top to keep the animals and birds out but it gives you an idea of my veggies.

My New raised veggie beds

well its been a scorcher of a week here so i thought i would get out and sort the garden out and i took some pics so i though i would show you my garden.

Me and hubby made some raised flower beds out of wood which will also be used as a coldframe as we kept some of the units from our old double glazing which fits on the top of the box to keep the plants warm.

This come about after a friend called amanda showed me hers...lol hubby says thanks for giving him extra work...lol

Basket for my friend Marys 70th Birthday

My friend Mary is 70 on the 13th of may so i made her up a basket of smellies which im sure she will love and she can reuse the basket in her bathroom for all her stuff too

I think as we get older it gets harder to know what to get people for presents so a basket is a wonderful gift and you can make the theme up as you go along.

Last year i did a few baskets as christmas presents and they went down well.

So what do you think? Will Mary like it?

Hubbys Been Busy too

What a busy week we've had here. Ally has made me 2 tubs for the garden out of tongue and groove wood.

It is all nicely stained and ready for my plants to go in once i know where i want them to go...decisions decisions...lol

And even charlie the cat liked them he had to be in the photo too...lol

Woo hoo i got this lovely stamp this morning and couldn't wait to try it out.

My dads birthday is on the 19th and it gave me a good excuse to try out this lovely stamp

I think im going to have a lot of fun with this one.....i still have another 2 stamps to try out ....so watch this space..lol

I am due to get a tendon op on my hand in 8 weeks time so ive had to make my cards for family etc now
I just love this image from the Daisy and Dandelion range called...bubbles
I think this range is totally adorable and can be used for so many cards.
I coloured them in using whispers pens as watercolours.....just bought the pens and having some fun with them.....once i get used to watercolouring that is..lol
These are for 2 good friends of mine for their birthdays later on this year.

Book mark card

A lady on imag-e-nation forum called daisy-mae made a lovely bookmark card which i though was lovely and thought i wold have a try at one for a special friend of mine for her birthday.
As she is the other length of the country i wasnt sure how to send the bookmark through the post but this way i am able to send the card and bookmark together.

I think this is going to be a lovely gift and one i will make again.

I am so addicted to making these necklaces....lol..
I am even wearing one which is something i never wear...necklaces and i must say i like it.
I love the different colour combos you can use and every necklace turns out different

My lovely new drive

Wow it is totally finished and looking brilliant.

We have a mice new wall built and harled and lovely folding double gates and a lovely little garden gate.

I now dont have to worry about hubby tripping over the gravel that was there before.

The pictures are of it before and after the lock block is laid.

What a difference it has totally transformed the front drive and garden and we even have a nice new fence up too

Ogalala necklaces

Finally got some time to do some new necklaces.

I got a copy of bead magazine and thought i would try out the ogalala pattern and i love it...as you can see i made 4 of them.

Cant wait for the next copy of bead to come out so i can see what pattern is next....lol

4 spring time necklaces

Well this weekend i decided to make a few necklaces
I was trying to come up with colours that go together and so far i think this 4 do.
It is a nice necklace to make and sits quite nice on the neck too

Having bought some tildas i though ......yeah cant wait to try them out...then ally got sick so i didnt have time
Well this weekend i thought it was time i got them out and had a play with them. They are so sweet .....i painted them using paints very similar to h20 ....i so want h20 now ive had a play with paints..

loads of necklaces

Well i have been busy making some more necklaces now i have some spare time on my hands .
I have been doing some of the patterns i know so it wasn't so hard to do...i've got some new patterns i am going to try out next month once i get my head round them.
I have made the same pattern in some different colours....what do you think?

Tangarine necklace

Ive been making a few necklaces lately and have been using some glass roceilles...not sure thats the right spelling but they are lovely.
They are frosted glass and so different and they feel s o different too....well i found this nice tangarine orange colour so just had to make a necklace with them to see what they are like...so here it is...

What do you think? It is certainly bright and summery.

Sorry for being absent

It has been a really hectic few months
Ally is Home after 5 operations and an infection which was there for most of his 14 weeks ill. He has had his shunt removed then inserted, stomach infection, bowel inflammation, reservoir removed and also memory loss
He is now out of hospital and is looking loads better though he is left with more short term memory loss and also some long term loss. It is like living with someone with domentia where they forget stuff all the time and repeat them selves but hes home and alive that is all that matters.
Anyway i have been beading again and almost finished a new patter which i am hoping might do as a wedding necklace for a friend but ill post it soon and you can give me your opinions on it.
Now i have a little free time i hope to get back into my beading as it really is relaxing and im enjoying it again.

Hubby has had his ops

Ally has had his ops...one to wash out his tummy and the other to remove his brain shunt from his brain. They are leaving teh shunt out to see if he can manage without it.....heres hoping
Unfortunately being so far away i havent seen him otday but i will go up on saturday with the kids to see him.

What a rubbish day i have had today

My pc went crash and wont do a thing after downloading a windows update!

So i need to sort out a new pc as i needed a new one rather than fix it again....just dont have the time to go out and buy one so im using my old one....at least i have a pc to use.

Hubby is still not good...his temperature is spiking all over the place and he still has tummy pains...so he was rushed to hospital on saturday night by ambulance...gave the neighbours something to gossip about..lol

Today he got a ct scan and it showed he has inflammation in his tummy.

They think that his brain shunt is rubbing against his tummy and making it sore they also think the shunt may be infected.

They think it may have been infected the first time too....

So they are going to operate on friday and insert a camera into his tummy to see what is going on in there. Then they are going to wash out his tummy and give it a good clean.
If they think it is an infected shunt they are going to remove it by cutting him behind his ear and taking it out. They will attempt to see if he can live without a shunt....scarey as last time he only got to 2 days without it.

If he cant live without one they will insert a new one and hopefully it will be ok...third time lucky maybe

After all that he is being pumped full of antibiotics... so fingers crossed all goes well and he is painfree after they sort him out tomorrow...hes had 6 weeks of pain now

spiral bracelet

Thank you goes to kim who gave me the pattern to make my first spiral bracelet....the first of many i think

I made it into a nice little bracelet probably for myself to wear as i love pink...will have to make a few more in different colours i think....after i make the matching necklace ...lol
